With an unexpected stop in London…
My family and I went to Jordan over Christmas break to visit my uncle. I want to share some pictures with y’all about it. All of these pictures are either taken by me, my mom, or a family friend.
This is a picture of Wadi Rum. It was amazing. The stars were spectacular. The sunset was a gift and amazing. God is just wonderful in making his creation. This place is also where a Star Wars movie got filmed.
The wonderful sunset from the plane. The clouds looks like mashed potatoes.
Amman, Jordan from ruins.
The ceiling of a Mosque in the ruins. The mosque isn’t being used. The mosque would do its call of prayer every morning at 4:50 and would last about 3 minutes. It was very musical, but loud and different.
Jesus’s baptism site. On the other side, it is Palestine/israel. It was cool to see both of them. Israeli tourists were on the other side despite the fighting, which was interesting to see.
The Dead Sea. It was the strangest feeling ever. You floated with out consciously thinking about it. It was also the warmest polar bear plunge that I have ever done. The elevation was -3000 ft below sea level.
The Treasury at Petra. It was gorgeous and walking down the Siq and seeing it was awe-inspiring. A gasp rose up from all my siblings and me. It was amazing!! Then we hiked up to the monastery which isn’t unlike the treasury. Walking in between vendors was harder than the walk itself.
The sunset at Wadi Rum was amazing. No light pollution whatsoever. We climbed up rocks to watch it, which in it self was very fun. Wadi Rum was the most beautiful sunset that I ever watched/seen. We also rode camels, which was super fun and very interesting (the camels walked very smoothly).
Two people in a canoe. Stop sign for only two people in a canoe.
London!! After an unexpected cancellation in our flight home, we got stuck in London.
Hot chocolate in a church building. One of the best hot chocolates that I have ever had.
We saw the London eye, tower bridge, Big Ben, and Tower of London from a far along with a lot of old churches which were beautiful!
Beautiful church that we stopped at for a communion service. The inside was huge and magnificent.
We ate fish and chips, too. Overall it was a fun experience in two different cultures when we only went on vacation for one.
Thank you for reading. See y’all soon (I hope!)
